Joint Injection

A joint injection involves the delivery of steroids into a joint, such as the shoulder, hip, or knee. This type of injection is typically used to treat patients suffering with arthritis, a condition resulting from wear and tear of the joint. The steroid decreases inflammation inside the joint, leading to decreased swelling and pain.

The pain medicine providers at Innovative Pain & Spine Specialists will do the procedure either at the bedside or using x-ray guidance. The procedure typically takes less than 5 minutes to perform and the effects can last for weeks to months.
