Peripheral Nerve Stimulation

Peripheral nerve stimulation is a minimally invasive treatment specifically designed to deliver pain relief for patients experiencing focal back, shoulder, post-amputation, and other acute or chronic post-operative pain. A small electrode (wire) is implanted for 60 days to target the nerves causing the pain. A small external battery source sends electrical pulses through the electrode around the nerves to scramble and decrease the pain signals coming from this area of the body. The procedure typically takes 15-30 minutes and is completed in an outpatient surgical center. Pain relief can last for 6-12 months or longer. The pain medicine physicians at Innovative Pain and Spine Specialists in Omaha and Lincoln will help determine if peripheral nerve stimulation is right for you.
